CCYAA Toronto Maple Leafs Learn to Skate Event

On December 27th, Toronto Maple Leafs in partnership with the CCYAA will be hosting over 40 youths from the Chinese community for an opportunity to learn how to skate at the Air Canada Center.

CCYAA Toronto Maple Leafs Learn to Skate Event

The CCYAA Toronto Maple Leafs Learn to Skate Event was organized in an attempt to provide children from the Chinese community with an opportunity to learn about Canada’s favourite sport.  Understanding that equipment and opportunities are often barriers for new immigrants to get involved with hockey, the Toronto Maple Leafs designed this program so that equipment could be lent to all the participants and ensured that the program would be free to everyone.

The sessions will be run by the Toronto Maple Leafs Hockey Development Department who work closely with the pro team and also with all levels of hockey in Canada. As well, there will also be special guests visiting the youths throughout the day and specialized equipment to assist in the learning.

The event will take place at 8:30am to 11:30am and all participants will not only get prizes from the Leafs, but also a behind-the-scenes tour of the Air Canada Centre.
