The elite division is comprised of the top Chinese basketball teams in Canada. The majority of tournaments and leagues take place in Toronto and involve mainly teams from the GTA. However, for major tournaments, teams from Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and other Canadian cities participate. Many Elite teams also travel across Canada and the United States to compete against other Asian teams and also teams from other cultural communities.

The major events include the Toronto Overseas Chinese Basketball Tournament in early May as well as the North American Chinese Basketball Association Invitational Tournament which rotates between host cities in North America including Chicago, New York, Boston, Philadephia, Los Angeles, Montreal, Toronto, as well as neutral sites such as Arizona and Ft. Lauderdale.
